all about my journeys in life: Frequent flyer

Frequent flyer

I used to be excited about flying. There's something about the plane taking off that really thrills me. It could be the speed of the plane at the runway prior to take off. It could be the idea of flying above the clouds. It could be something else. Fact remains, I get high as the plane takes off.

Recently, I realized that I only feel happy during take off when the plane leaves from Doha. Pag galing na sa Manila, I just don't feel excited at all about taking off. There's this anxiety that overcomes the excitement about the take off because I'm leaving home. So even before take off, I have already dozed off.

Another thing that makes me look forward to flying is the meal service. I enjoy the food served in flight; the jam, the croissant, the appetizer, the main course, the dessert, the cookies and cheeses, the chocolates, etc. During the first few times that I flew, I enjoyed the food served so much that I finish everything. Yes, everything! There were even times when I wanted to ask for a second helping. ;)

However, being the frequent flyer that I am (I travel once a month on the average), I lost my appetite for inflight meals. It actually came slowly. First, I would eat just the bread. Or just the main course. Or just the dessert. Then later on, I would miss the second meal. The realization that I didn't want the inflight meals anymore came when I traveled last week from Manila. I was actually thinking of buying fastfood to be eaten during my 9-hr flight back to Doha. Haha.

I guess having flown so much in 3 years made me not look forward to flying anymore. At least not when leaving Manila. Because still, I am looking forward to my trip next week. And in December, when Kitty gets married. ;)
