all about my journeys in life: Mabu--hey!

Mabu--hey!

05-13 January
MANILA / NUEVA ECIJA
Philippines

i wouldn't have made this trip in the first place. the checkin agent returned my ticket which meant that i had to go home and try the next day's flight. i was so thankful that ritchie was there to help me. maybe he saw the desperation written all over my face when my ticket was returned. so he took it upon himself to do everything possible to get me on the flight! can't thank him enough for that!

so, i arrived in manila on the 6th of january and went straight to my home, sweet home, in san isidro. nanay was so glad to see me, i'm sure! her eyes even sparkled when i said, i'd stay til the 13th! anyway, the main reason for going home is to see don for the last time before he leaves for canada. good thing i made it!

vidson came to visit me on the 7th and he came with something that he knows i'm addicted to--koreanovela! we spent the whole day (and the day after, and the day after that, and so on...) watching jewel in the palace! while watching the saga, i can't help but develop a habit of thinking what illness is cured by each ingredient of the food i'm eating. hmp! too much tv influence!

on sunday, the oldies visited their tita so i went with them. we had lunch at a chinese restaurant (as requested by moi, 'coz i sooo miss the good old siomai) and we had a side trip to the duty free as well. they went home without me for i stayed in manila so i can meet up with some friends.

the following day, i went to AAP (near the broadway centrum) to have my international driving permit. (truth is, i don't intend to drive here. but i guess it's better to have it ready, just in case.) i had lunch with sas pals at congo grille hoping i'd get to munch sisig which i truly miss. however, sisig was unavailable! i almost walked out of the resto but since time was not cooperating well with me (sas people have to go by 1pm because of their weekly sales meeting), i had to settle with crispy pata and liempo. not good alternatives but, what the hell? they're still pork! so, kain lang. :)

after lunch, i went to the podium to do a little bit of shopping. then i went back to sas to have coffee courtesy of dave and hendry. afterwards, i zoomed off to makati to have dinner with my ceb friends at masas greenbelt. this time, tin, adette and joy treated all of the gang. aba, syempre naman dahil promoted na si joy and graduate na si tin and adette.

right after dinner, i bought some books to read at powerbooks, while waiting for donald to call. we had dessert at italianni's, together with some catching-up-chat. i ended my day sleeping on the sofa, which i really like dahil kasyang-kasya lang ako sa kanya.

at 10am the next day, i was off to nueva ecija again. stayed there for the rest of my holiday.

i just went back to manila on the 12th. i dropped by sas to pick up the shampoo ate susan wanted to give to her hubby. i also took that chance to buy boy bawang which capella said was an OFW in-thing. hehe!

at 9pm, i was queing at the emirates counter to see whether i'd get the chance to go back to doha without the warning letter waiting for me. unfortunately, the flight was too full, so i had to go back to makati.

the following day, i went to take a chance on the qatar airways flight. i guess it was an unlucky day for me (it was friday the 13th, take note) so i was bumped off for the 2nd time, while 2 of my colleagues got in! anyway, i still had a chance on the 7pm flight of emirates, i thought. deep inside, i was happy 'coz i still get to stay even for a while. but at the same time, i was also thinking that if i don't get on the next flight, i'd have to be ready to resign.

emirates' flight was full. in fact, it was overflowing. there were 30 or more passengers (all of them chance) waiting for the 6pm deadline for the flight to close down. i prepared my things and went to the counter at 5 minutes to 6pm. the lady at the counter announced that there were only limited seats to be given to chance passengers. the names of those who had a chance to be boarded shall be called and the rest just had to come back at 11pm for the next flight. my blood rushed to my face all of a sudden when the names were being called for i was desperately hoping and praying for my name to be on the list. God is good! i was in! woohoo!

through emirates flight to doha via dubai, i landed on my bed at 3am.
